Christy Schaffer, Winner of the 2025 Christel DeHaan Accessible Arts Fellowship

I am honored to be a recipient of the Christel DeHaan Fellowship for Accessible Arts award! With these funds I will embark on learning the art of needle felting! My goal is to understand the process from “Farm to Felt”.  I plan to adapt the creative process to the students I teach at ArtMix and other offsite programs. Sharing the entire journey of the wool. Gaining information of where things come from and how they are made provides a deeper connection to the world around us and the art in front of us.
