Bella Heilbrunn, Winner of the 2025 Christel Dehaan Fellowship for Accessible Arts

I’ll travel to California to visit  Able Arts Work in Long Beach and ARTECF in Whittier, two non-profit organizations similar to ArtMix. Hoping to talk with artists and TAs there and exchange ideas for future art classes at ArtMix. 

I will also get inspiration by visiting one of my favorite museums in LA, the Broad. Joseph Beuys, Basquiat, Kusama, Andy Warhol, and many more artists will surely give me plenty of new ideas for my students.

After this I’ll spend a few days in Palm Springs, enjoy an architectural tour of mid-century modern homes, and do more research for the classroom at the Palm Springs Art Museum. My favorite sculptors Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Alexander Calder, and Chihuly will most definitely provide me with fresh ideas for small sculptures in my classrooms at Artmix.
