The statewide leader in providing access to the arts for people with disabilities in Indiana, ArtMix (formerly VSA Indiana) has served Hoosiers for nearly 35 years.

ArtMix was founded in 1982 as Arts Unlimiting and serves as the state affiliate for VSA, an international program of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, founded by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith, in 1974.

ArtMix fulfills its mission through five core programs and special projects led by professional Teaching Artists, who provide programming in schools, community centers, hospitals, and on-site in the ArtMix adaptive studios.

“When we started Arts Unlimiting 30 years ago, we were simply trying to overcome the isolation of children with disabilities in the schools.  Today, we have a community that is inclusive and engaging to people of all abilities.”  Gayle Foy, ArtMix Founder and Former Board Member
