Born and raised in Virginia, ceramic artist Ellie Schwer has been making, building, and creating for as long as she can remember.

After studying art at a university in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she moved around the country—first to St. Louis, Missouri, then San Antonio, Texas, before finally settling in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she started at ArtMix as a Teaching Artist.

In every city and every step of her journey, she honed her skills, exploring new techniques and ideas as she grew her practice. Ellie loves to challenge herself and others to find creative solutions to problems.
